Why would God allow someone He loves to live in absolute misery day after day, year after year. He has not in any way, shape or form provided a way out of my miserable situation that I have been cast into for the past six years. I have prayed, begged, allowed for "His" time, thought of suicide, and looked for ways to improve the situation DAILY for YEARS, but to no avail. Why is He continuing to ignore me and allow this thorn to torture me? I understand that I have a cross to bear, but it is (and has been for years) unbearable. Why won't He help me? Does God bless some people and ignore others? Why won't He shine His light on me and allow me some comfort? I have been a faithful Christian, wife, and Mother, and yet He seems to have forgotten me. I pray without ceasing for relief, yet none ever comes. Why would He put me in an awful situation for six years, and just leave me here to suffer? I know that He won't give us more than we can handle, but I just can't anymore, I want to die.

With tears in my eyes I'll answer. I have gone through a very similar situation. I was a happy productive father and husband and through what I thought was no fault of my own I lost everything I cared about. Family, job, house...basically my world ended. I lost faith in everything including God. That was about 6 years ago and I like you felt totally betrayed by God. Although I cannot tell you why or when I can promise you that God knows where you are and has a reason for this. Don't stop. Keep going and in the end you will understand that there is a reason for your struggle. You and I will both be stronger when this is over.

I'm going to answer this under the assumption that you are sincere...
First of all, God does love you. He loves all of us. He shows it (at the very least) by allowing your heart to pump, your lungs to take in air, your eyes to see, etc.
Now, I'm not sure what you are going through, but you are right that the Lord will not put more on us than we can bare. There is always a way out. The problem is 1 of a few things...
1. We are impatient... When we pray, we pray that things be done NOW. We have lapses and have faith that things go our way, but faith is understanding that if it doesn't then it was for the best - AND moving on regardless... Many have failed in their faith.
2. We look to man moreso than God (capital G). How/Why would you put your life in the hands of a human that has problems of their on? You hear of how many people killed their spouses in revenge because "He/She betrayed me!"
3. We have things (internal and secret) that we need to resolve, but we continue to avoid it. You see everyday how people tend to have repressed memories, or they do harm to others because of things that happened in their past. Heck, people who win the lotto waste it in a year because they were so poor in the past that they didn't know how to handle it when they got it.
You weren't specific in your question, so I can't go any deeper than that. If you want a definite answer, give a specific question.
God bless.

I do not believe that God has left you. I do believe that there is a reason for whatever you are going through. You say you have prayed for relief. Have you prayed for God's will to be done? Sometimes we are so caught up in our own problems that we forget the big picture. I'm not trying to sound cold. I have a brother with a very bad medical condition for 13 years now. He's in the hospital as I write this. He started out saying "Why?" He now knows why and he's started a support group and has lobbied for more funding for the disease he has. He has his faith again too. Please stay strong. Ask God to help keep you strong and allow His will to be done. You have a family to consider also so please do not look for death. I pray you find relief and peace.
May God Bless you.

Well, I think I'd have to know more about your situation. This question is very vague. I won't presume to know why God does anything. However, might I suggest you read the story of Paul's shipwreck, in Acts 27?
I'm going through a tough time right now myself, but I just keep hoping that things will get better.
Don't give up on your faith. Perhaps there's a reason for it which you'll see later.
I'm just sorry I can't help you more.
God is faithful, though, I do know that. I'll pray for you.
Please feel free to email me any time.

God answers all prayer. Sometimes the answer is wait, some times yes or no. I really wish I knew your problem. I will pray for you. I have lived with Cystic Fibrosis for 49 years and I do understand suffering. God can use all things for the good, but during our suffering it is hard to see. Trust, do not loose faith dear one! God has not forgotten you! Remember Job, read the book of Job. His ways are not our ways! Keep praying, seek help! God please be with this person and give your strength and help. I ask in Jesus name Amen.

you know, I have known many, many male and female Christians and I have never heard a Christian, who has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, say that.
with the title "christian" used so loosely these days, I would need more information from you.
are you a "born again" Christian? because that does make a big difference.
there is only one true Christianity.
the requirements are;
belief that Jesus Christ is God.
belief that we are all sinners and fall short of the Glory of God.
belief that Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins and arose again from the dead.
belief that, if we confess our sins and ask Jesus Christ into our life as our personal Lord and Savior, we are saved and will spend eternity with God.
belief that Jesus is the only intersessor between mankind and God.
belief that the Bible is the inspired, inerrant Word of the Living God Jehovah.
any person, group, church, religion that does not teach and believe in all those things is not truly Christian.
That is not my opinion, mind you.....
that is what God has to say about the matter.

Oh, I know how you feel! have hope and don't despair! I feel like that all of the time! Even If you are not a teen I strongly advise you to join your church's youth group. there, you can attend Dead Theologians Society and do other activities with the teens (they are High School to College aged.) The one in my town has helped to prevent so many of my friends from commiting suicide. there are usually a few adults who attend also, so you will not feel strange. I swear, JUST GO and it will change and save your life!
Besides, when was the last time you were inspired by people who have decided to let god into their lives so early and can teach you to do the same?
Good luck and God bless

Keep praying to God. He has a reason for everything. If you truly have faith in Him your prayers will be answered and everything will be alright in the end. Also, you're not the only person in the world with these problems. God can't work millions of miracles at once. Give Him some time.

Aw, sweety! Don't give up! I'll pray for you, too. Suffering is a part of our test on earth and it makes God so happy when we bear our cross and continue to love him through all our trials. I'm going through a similar type of problem now, I'm just trying to remember that God has a plan for us all and am trying to realize how much closer to our Father I am because of the suffering. Remember too that if you endure it, your reward in Heaven will be so great! You will be so thankful for these sufferings and it will make it worth it. I'll pray for you!
Also try changing the way you pray...Go to confession...I don't know! I'm so sorry. God is close to you, I know!

God loves you more than you can understand. Do not give up on your love for Him! "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging." Psalm 46:1-3 - You believe in God for a reason. Do not doubt what he is capable of. Just because you may not see what He is doing in your life, it doesn't mean He is not doing it. Give it all up to Him, pray, and know He works in His time, not yours! God Bless!
