I think this depends on the person. I have used an selection of products. Clean and Clear, Clinque, Neutragena, and now I use Keihls Products. All have worked well for me. I battled acne till I was bout 20. Then my face started clearing up. I think I learned how to take better care of my skin though. I would try different products and see what works best for you. So my body does to not adapt to one product I will change every month or so for about a week. Meaning I stick with Keihls, but then for a week every 4 weeks I will use Clean and Clear products. I also moisturize four - five times a week. Once in a while you need to give your skin a break and let it use its natural oils. I am big on skin care. I don't want to age! I have very soft and clear skin. Hope I could help a little!

First what always seems to be the worst problem and the doctors won't tell you this. Don't eat pork. Especially bacon and ham.
The chemicals they use to process it causes acne in some people. Just stopping that helped a lot of people.
then eat more chicken and fish and fruits and vegetables and stay away from fat and junk food. chips and nuts have fat and salt. Acne is deep inside the pore and what you do to the outside is not as effective as what you put on the inside. They drain them with needles and creams and ointments but most can clear it up better with diet alone.Black cherrys, carrot juice or V8 juice.
Some have done it with apple juice. Drink a big glass every day.

If you’re looking for accurate acne information, best to see a dermatologist. Some people believe doctors are predisposed to take the easy way to deal with acne… prescription drugs. But, with many, this simplistic answer may not be the appropriate course of action. Some feel that such prescription drugs just treat the symptoms and not the underlying cause. But, a local dermatologist is still your best starting point.
For me personally, I discovered a great informational acne treatment site. Not only is there good information/articles but I got their audio e-book and following it’s advice can now say that my acne is a thing of the past! Keep in mind, were all different and there are various types of acne, so what works for some may not be totally effective for all.
Bottom line, hang in there, you will get past this! Sincere best wishes and good luck.
Oh, by the way the site that helped me is:

Tried Proactive and Acne Free (Acne Free is a brand you will find at walmart/walgreens). I've never had severe acne, just a little here and there, but Acne Free was just as good, less expensive (about $17?) and I didn't to sign up for a monthly membership or anything.

Hey, am not sure you know about this brand called ARBONNE international, you can go in their website and look at all the products they have, they have the best facial products you can ever imagine and its natural based ingredients, they are the best brand I ve ever bought before and does miracles to your skin, not expensive either, you should give it a try if you can. I used to have really bad acne and this is the only thing that has healed my face!
By the way, for those who might be thinking I sell it, no I dont, am just a regular costumer! :)

PROACTIVE SOLUTION!!! from experience is the best thing i have tried and it works like wonder even thought its expensive compare to other treatment and the way it works its weird cuz it starts working from the inside out meaning that your face gets kind od bad for like 2 weeks and then it clears up completely. it doesn't work on everybody but its a good way and the other i recommend is drinking as much water as possible. the more you do pee the more oil and inpurities you are getting rid off.... hope it workss

Get proactive. If all three steps dry out your skin, then just use the lotion after you wash your face with something moisterizing. Those oil of olay wash cloths with the cleanser already on them work great and have just the right amount of "scrubby" so they wont hurt.
Give it a week, twice a day - the zits will go.

Avoid refined sugars in your food, like cakes, chocolate, bread etc, and go for fruit and veg. For spots you have now, try a bit of toothpaste to dry them out.
The best thing I have ever eaten to improve the condition of my skin is avocados, closely followed by strawberries. When I eat them, I wake up the next day and my skin looks fab.
