Onion Powder, Garlic Powder, Lemon Pepper, Thyme, Lawry's Seasoned Salt, Sage This combination is great on baked chicken. Rub it generously (use only a little of the seasoned salt and sage) under the skin of the chicken. The taste is great. CVS Pharmacy has really nice seasonings for really cheap (99 cents or less.)

First and foremost, pepper, preferably a pepper grinder. It ads so much flavor to dishes and has no ill effects like salt might
Other things to round out your spice cabinet: Garlic powder, paprika, basil, sea salt, curry powder, sesame seeds and ground ginger. My picks skew a bit Asian, so it depends on what nationality of food you plan on cooking the most (in other words, if you're cooking Italian, sub out oregano for curry, etc...)

Salt, pepper, garlic salt or powder (I like the powder better), chili powder, some Italian seasoning, minced onion and seasoning salt (like McCormick's seasoning salt).
Also keep some fresh garlic and mushrooms on hand. They always come in handy.

Garlic salt, Seasoning Salt, Salt, and Pepper. It's all I use. Unless it is a recipe that calls for something else. And did I say Salt?

- Garlic cloves - Much more flavorful than powder, and you can keep some in the freezer so you'll always have them.
- salt and pepper
- oregano
- rosemary (easy to grow, and also can be frozen)
- minced onion
- dill weed (makes many dishes savory)
- basil
