My ex BF was 120lbs when him and I were going out...recently my friend, who is close friends with him, said he had no body fat and is 103.... My Ex is 5'5" about that and 15 years old. He eats at lunch, a lot of food too. It worries me to no end because I used to have an eating disorder... Anorexia. I didn't eat at all, but I studied up on Bulimia and found out that eating excessivly is a symptom.. But I'm not sure if he's throwing it back up (we arn't so close anymore) Does it sound to you that he's bulimic? If so what can my friend and I do to help?

i think he does, thats what it sounds like. If he was begger originally..say 180..and he lost that much weight it wouldnt be a big issue. but the fact that he weighed only 120 and dropped to 103 gives you reason to worry. thats a big drop. i think you guys need to watch him more. hang out with him longer. and if all fails, talk to him and ask him whats going on.

I used to be anorexic and most of the bulimics who were in therapy with me were not excessively skinny. They were fairly average in weight or thin. I would be actually more concerned with him being on drugs. How is his behavior? Is he high strung? Does he seem too "up" sometimes?

I would try to re-establish a friendship with him so you can get to know what he may be going through. Having people who care around you can be a big help with either bulimia or any other kind of addictions. I commend you for caring.

Sounds to me like he's eating a lot and then throwing it up he needs some help but from his family, its a shame because there are a lot of young people going through this, its a crime, maybe take his mother a side and tell her what you think is going on, listen it could be that he really is sick with something else, but probally not.

Don't jump to conclusions! You cannot just automatically think that he has Bulimia and since you both broke up it's not your place to just assume things without confronting him 1st. Maybe talking to him about it and seeing what's wrong because for all you know he might have something severe other than an eating disorder.

he's an ex...leave him alone. he is a growing boy...it's normal! he could eat a whole large pizza, breadsticks, pop...probably a case, and then go to mcdonalds for a big mac fries and shake! and not gain an ounce.... i know! i got kids...it is totally normal. but being he is an ex...dont worry bout him... move on girlfriend!

-mell his breath for vomit. (maybe always having a breathe freshener)
Observe what he do immediately after eating.
Ask him nonchalantly about eating disorders in general and see if he gets offensive
Ask his friends if they notice a change
That is a start
