Well, you didn't say how much your willing to spend. Go to a store and just buy gorgeous expensive figurines. Everyone wil love them and the better the product the more chic.

Big candles in your wedding colors or pillar candles of assorted sizes...like...3 or 4 on each table.
If you go with the bigger candles...place one on each table, you can put fresh flowers around them or greenery or ...anything you want really! If you decide to just place candy kisses around them you could get the paper in a wedding color and put a mirror under each candle.
The candles *** a romantic touch. You won't need as much overhead light and the dimness is romantic

your rental supplier (or even the venue) will most likely have tall candelabras, get the 5 arm candelabra and have flowers arranged in the middle with stands of crystal (or glass) beads that you can get from craft stores hanging from the arms, lots of candles and add some hanging greens to the centerpiece to accentuate the hieght.
