my town has this thing for highschool kids, where all these bands play and everyone screams and dances and it's really cool. usually before every "bash" i see what bands are going to play and i add them on myspace. (i'm in the ninth grade) my profile says i'm 16, even though i'm not. i added a band and they commented me saying, "hey, hope to see you at the bash! -joe" (the lead singer- who happens to be REALLY hot.) i thought, wow that was cool of them to comment me. a few minutes later i got an IM that said, "no, seriously, i really hope you come, girl." and i was like "who's this.." and he said "this is joe, from (the band name), i'm IMing you cuz i want you to go.. in fact i'm making you :p.. and i hope you come and talk to me and the band afterward :)" i was like "sure!" this guy is 19 years old. so i went to the bash and i saw them play and he's hotter in person. i chickened out when it was time to go talk to him. he IMed me after the bash and said "i saw you cute girl.. but

you didn't come see me. ):" and i was like "aw i'm sorry" and our conversation kind of ended there. i commented them on myspace telling them how well they played and Joe messaged me saying, "hey thanks for the kind words.. hope to see you again!" and i said "ahah you def will.. and just to let you know.. your hair is a gift from god. :)" and he replied "oh thank you... it kinda needs trimming though.. you should come with me to get it cut, and give me some ideas." and i just kind of said "lol" and we didn't talk from there.
was he flirting with me? is this bad, that he's 19 and all? should i stay away? or flirt back? this seems all too innocent

Not Really, sorry. I only made it halfway through the first paragraph, before realizing your character is self-absorbed. (This is a good point, at least the writing. You didn't tell me "I am self-absorbed." You showed me. But I don't like self-absorbed characters.) Your spacing/formatting sucks. sorry— better then when i first started. I had ONE GIANT LONG-RUNNING PARAGRAPH. your's is a lot better. keep writing. Its a good stress reliever, trust me. So, not bad for a first start. EDIT: Sorry I made you feel bad... I decided to revisit your question and see what other people said, as well as try and make my way through the paragraphs... Here's something to keep in mind for that: the average reader drops a paragraph inbetween the sixth to tenth sentence. Yours are about that long, so press the return button again. I found the soda thing interesting, but seemingly irrelevant. Sorry. But don't give up. Again, writing is a good stress reliever, and should be something you do for yourself, not to make money or get famous or something. Ummmm...... Anything else I can add? Don't speak to the readers, really. Actually, that just depends on the reader. I could care less if the narrator was speaking to themselves or us, but some people don't like it. You may as well post more, because it might go somewhere. A few tips: 1.) Press the return button a few more times then you do. 2.) Press the space bar four to six times when you post it, because it makes it a lot easier for people to read. 3.) Do keep writing, though. Your spelling isn't terrible like a bunch of people who have posted here, your grammar doesn't fail epically. Actually, I'm not to good at grammar myself, and yours had nothing to obvious. 4.) HAVE FUN!

Hey Susie... well how old are you? 14 or 15?
Well yeah I think he was flirting with you. He probably does like you and think you're cute... but on the other hand, he could be just fooling around you know? Some cute girl he sees and just wants to hook up with. Not all nice guys ARE actually nice... that is what most people need to realize.
You are too young to be with him anyway, the law says so. And if you think that law is dumb, you still have to follow it because sweetie, it was made for a reason. There are a lot of perverts out there... You'd be surprised at how many unreported ones live around you. Im not paranoid, but I've worked in a center and they have kids there, and you hear their stories.. and its hard to believe that something like that could happen to them. What you want, and what that 19year old boy wants (out of a relationship) are different. I have a 19 year old friend dating a 15 year old... and I know they love each other and I know my 19 year old friend is a great guy, but Im still not totally ok with their relationship.
Honey, take my advice, there are a billion of good guys you will meet who are more age appropriate for you. PLEASE dont make a mistake and go on a date with him. Ok? Be smart. He doesnt like you for your personality anyway... while sweet words are awesome to hear and it makes us girls drool, we also want to be thought of as more than a HOT/CUTE/BEAUTIFUL creature.
I hope you do what's right Susie. Take care!

Yes, he is flirting with you. Sounds like he likes you.
But you've already messed things up by lying to him about your age. Deceit is no way to begin a relationship, or to live your life.
Change your myspace page right now, and be proud of being 14 (or 13 or whatever you really are).
Maybe he'll still like you anyway - although if he's smart, he'll avoid any sexual contact with you for a few years at least, until you're ready. (Honestly, if you're not mature enough to be honest about something as basic as your age, you're not mature enough to handle all the responsibilities of safe sex.
Anyway, don't sweat it. Even if this one gets away, there will be plenty more hot guys over the next ten years for you to enjoy, trust me. Take your time and do it right, don't rush into anything.

yes, he was flirting, since you are not 16 you must be about 15 or 14. The age difference would be a bad thing because he is about 4 years older, if it gets serious it could become illegal

Sorry but any guy who is 19 shouldnt be pursuing someone your age. Stay away. Any one pursuing younger girls at his age is because girls his own age want nothing to with him and you are an easy target. Dont get wrapped up in it he will just hurt you. Not to mention illegal if it goes any further.

Every time you talk to him is one step closer to jail for him. Seriously. You should chill. Your just a kid. He could be arrested. Sounds like if he KNOWS your underage, he should be. Even if you WERE 16, it would be illegal. Do you want that on your conscience?
