I guess moisturizes and soothes skin. I't must do that because mostly it's used for babys buts!! lol. It's also gread for badly chapped lips.

A & D ointment if good for a baby's diaper rash, there is nothing better, but I like to use it on my knees, elbows, and in winter my feet. It really helps with chaffed skin.

If you have extremely dry skin, you might use it once an a while.
Anything like A&D, Vaseline or other such heavy, greasy ointements will get you cloged pores like(embeded white heads that needs to be extracted by an expert) or acne.
Any creams,lotion etc...with ingredients like: waxes, lanolin and minerals, will clogg pores.

A&D ointment (like neosporin) is antibacterial ointment, used for wounds and such.

If you want a heavy moisturizer, try Vaseline. It's not medicated.
