Seeing as you're both so shy I think that you'd really impress him by being quite forward and asking him out. I was very shy until I met my fiancee, but she was really confident with me and really brought me out of my shell.

A "lady" should never fret over such things...to much, and should certainly leave any "dating" moves up to the guy. If things are meant to be he will ask you on a date.
