You have it, U just feel less pain. If U have a low tolerance U could get a good feeling from painkillers, if Ur like me (I've been in pain management for 7 years ) I take 160 mg. of Oxycontin, 60 mg. of Roxycontin a day & get just enough relief for about 1-2 hrs after I take them. This is the only time I have ant quality of life. Numb is a feeling when u 1st start taking them ( the good ole days ) but the more U take the more U need to get the same results. If U stub Ur toe U will feel it. Hope this helps U.

No, it doesn't take away all the pain. When my wisdom teeth were ripped out of my head, the vicodin helped a lot, but I could still feel the pain. Yes, you will feel it if you stub your toe, it just won't hurt as bad.

If you stubbed your toe after taking vicodin of course it would hurt, but it would go away quicker than if you weren't taking them. Vicodin works like this, it is composed of hydrocodone and acetiminophen (tylenol). The hydrocodone or narcotic in the medication confuses pain signals sent from the brain therefore reducing your pain levels. It is a very effective pain medication! Hope this was of help!

You just get high on painkillers. They partially deaden your nerve endings. Heroin is the same thing. But they offer emotional and spiritual feelings of "ecstasy" which cause you to forget about your physical suffering. If they didn't have this effect, they would not be as good at "killing" pain :)

In the words of Pink Floyd, you'll feel "comfortably numb" until Mr. Vicotin wears off that is.

I have yet to take a "pain killer" and it actually take away all of the pain. It usually just gets you all stoned where you don't care about the pain.
