yes? sure if God is inside you. Otherwise you will be disappointed because you expect something back in return, with a husband and wife do have many time, I love you so you must be true to me, and love only me. This is Brotherly Love (Philadelphia-means city of brotherly love) most people can only have this sort of love. But a Father or mother to a son or daughter many times is unconditional love. Of the seven types of love Agape is the highest then followed by Phileo.
26 agape {ag-ah'-pay} from 25; TDNT -- 1:21,5; n f
AV -- love (86)
-- charity (27)
-- dear (1)
-- charitably + 2596 (1)
5368 phileo {fil-eh'-o} from 5384; TDNT -- 9:113,1262; vb
AV -- love (22)
-- kiss (3) [25]
1) to love; to approve of; to like; sanction; to treat affectionately or kindly, to welcome, befriend
2) to show signs of love; to kiss
3) to be fond of doing; be wont, use to do

Let's say you had a child. Would you love him? Or would you expect him to first do the dishes, clean your room, paint the walls and vacuum the floors before you decide that he's worthy of your love?

Sure. My husband has done hurtful things that I sometimes can't forget about, but I forgive and move on. I love him regardless of the mistakes and misunderstandings we make.

absolutely.... it happens when your focus isnt on what you can 'get' out of a relationship... it is on the other person and knowing that even tho they may not be perfect, love is a choice we can make no matter what imperfections come up
