Yeah, it sounds like a stye to me. I have had them in the past. Generally, styes tend to last for a couple of days depending on the cause of the infection. To ease the discomfort, applying a warm cloth to the area helps and also reduces any further swelling. If you continue to have prolonged symptoms longer than 10 days, then it might be in your best interest to seek medical attention for antibiotics. Hope this helps a little. It sucks, I know, but you should be ok. :)

This is a stye. What you should do is get a very warm cloth, and apply pressure to the eye. That is really all you can do. A stye is basically a pimple in the eye. The heat will help it come to a head, and drain. That is all that can be done. If you continue to get them, see a doctor., but seriously, there isnt much you can do about them. Keep your finger out of your eye, and continue applying heat. Microwave a wet washcloth, or hard boil an egg, and wrap it in a towel, and apply that to your eye. Good luck.
PS. the ointment called STYE does not work.

it is a sty. one of the ducts in your skin near your eyelashes is clogged. don't squeeze it or try to poke it. I have had this a few times- the best way to fix it is to hang your head over the sink or bathtub and use a washcloth- get the washcloth wet with medium warm-hot water, don't scald your self, but you want it warm. hold the washcloth over your eye, on the eyelid- not hard, but touching it. When the cloth gets cold, get more hot water on it and do it again, for about five minutes you may need to do this several times a day, but it works. you are just loosening up the clogged pore and it comes out on its own. some people use teabags also. good luck!

Yes, it's a stye....try an ointment called STYE available at most drug stores. If you ignore it, it will start to really irritate your eye.

leave it alone, and dont wear makeup. dont rub the area, and be careful of debris getting in the area. i wouldnt put anything in it, like visine, if any thing... if it doesnt clear up, call the optometrist... they will give you erythromycine just for the eye, it may just be an irritant, like an eyelash or piece of dust... dont inhibit the problem... keep your fingers out of your eye! throw out all eye makeup that you have already useed, because this COULD be the cause of the infection. also, use a clean towel... if its a virus, you could re contaminate yourself, of pass it on to any one who uses the towel... give it a day or two,but no longer... id see a pro after that... good luck!!!
