A large convoy of mini-buses travelled from Limerick to Croke Park for the rugby match last weekend. When starting out from Limerick, all of the coaches carried exactly the same number of passengers. However, on the way to Dublin, 10 coaches broke down, and in order to accomodate all of the passengers from these 10 coaches, each of the remaining coaches took exactly one extra passenger. After the match, before returning back to Limerick, the organisers found that a further 15 coaches had broken down. However, everyone was once again accommodated, and, on the way back to Limerick, each mini-bus had exactly three more passengers than it had when leaving Limerick in the morning.

How many people travelled to the match on the minibuses?

I don't know...How many buses were there? What is the capacity for each bus? How many empty seats were left on each of the remaining buses? Answer at least two of these questions, and I'll answer the riddle.

that is a very tricky one. i think that the answer is impossible to figure out because each bus had exactly the same number throughout the whole thing which means if 10 broke down and they all still have the same number, but if that were true then there would be 20 buses so it would be impossible to have 15 more break down cause 20 - 10 = 10 and 10 - 15 = -5 so they would have more buses than you say unless you worded it wrong which means it can't be the ultimate riddle if there is no answer.

900. (100 buses with 9 people per bus initially) Assuming its not a trick question. Can you take a bus from Limerick to Croke Park? I have no idea about that.
