The bag will tell you how much to feed. While it might not seem like a lot, keep in mind that he's less than 5 lbs. and you're feeding him more than once.

If anything, you can bump it up to three times per day if you want. If he starts getting a little too chunky, then you'll know you're feeding him more than he needs.

You could also supplement his feeding with a treat now and then too. See what your pet store recommends for a 9 week old dog. Meaty treats are often the best, since it's healthier than eating a grainy biscuit. You can also give him small pieces of cooked meat, as long as you do so in a way where he won't mooch at the dinner table all the time.

let puppies eat as much as they want 1 or 2 times a day. Once they quit eating and turn away take the bowl away from them. Then in 15 minutes take it outside to go to the bathroom :-)

Read the instructions on the bag of puppy food. He should eat about 3 or 4 times a day, so divide it up.

I think a hanful would be plenty. You have to remember how tiny a chihuahuas stomach is. (Especially a puppy)

I would offer it 3 times a day though.
