RACHEL,
THIRD MOLARS (WISDOM TEETH) DON'T HAVE TO BE VISIBLE TO BE REMOVED. WHAT'S CAUSING YOUR TMJD?
IS IT GRINDING OR MALPOSITIONING OF THE DISK?
HAVE THE DENTIST START TO TREAT THIS BEFORE THE WISDOMS ARE EXTRACTED. IF FOR GRINDING, I RECOMMEND THE N.T.I. BRUXISM APPLIANCE.

Yes. You will have surgical extractions. Dentists sometimes suggest this when it is clear that the wisdom teeth are going to be a problem when they erupt. While they are still in the gums, the teeth aren't fully developed yet, meaning they are softer and the roots are not as intact, so it is actually easier to remove them. Don't worry, they will give you nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and then IV sedation, so you'll be out cold! It's not as bad as people day, and better to get it done now!

yes and that is the principle reason you need to get them pulled. They may never fully emerge through the gums. Out of sight does not mean out of mind here. The teeth may push the roots of other teeth and cause you much pain. Their removal may also help with your TMJ.

Yes, you can have them out without them having to be visible yet. My wisdom teeth were like that. What they did was give me some kind of drug to make me sleep lightly, then they cut my teeth out. When I woke up they (the teeth) were gone. It did hurt though. I was given a prescription for Tylenol with Codeine and in about 4 days I was right as rain (still not eating alot of solid food, but working again).

I had my knowledge enamel pulled as a youngster and all four enamel had been impacted (underneath the gum). The trouble with knowledge enamel is they commonly develop, and develop ahead. My knowledge enamel had been doing this and pushing on my enamel, that have been newly straightened via very highly-priced braces. So this used to be actually serving to my enamel from going crooked. The surgical procedure used to be rapid and I remembered not anything. I speedily discovered what I might consume and drank many drinks and as a result had an overly quick recuperation.

Oh yes. Mine were not through the gum when I had all mine pulled. They knock you out and cut the gum and pull them out--roots and all. Mine had to be broken to get them out because they were impacted. That means they were tucked under the tooth in front of it. It was fine.
