Is it a nice place to live?

It's one of the sunniest locations in NZ. It's a wine growing area and it's about 30 km from Picton, where you catch the inter-island ferry to Wellington. It's not on the coast, but yes, it's one of the more popular places to retire to. As well as wine and agriculture, it's got fruit growing and some light industry.

The first answer is all correct. It is a sunny place with lots of wine (and seafood).

The people are lovely but generally its an older crowd. A lot of people retire there. Nelson is not far away and thats a bigger city and is cool to hang out in.

I've only been there once, but the first thing i noticed was there were soooooo many old people! Nice weather though, nice beaches near by!

forget about new zealand! you need to go to the inner cities of new york,and hang out with the gang bangers in the bronx! now that is fun!
