Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world. Despite having negative publicity, so many people are converting. Note one thing. Most of the converts are from the Western world. Now why would these people convert by force? You cannot convert someone by force today. These are educated civilised people who converted. Why do you suppose it is the way it is? Again please I expect educated answers. No offensive or insulting answers. Think rationally. I was reading an article of an American model who converted. She had everything fame, money. That model was even ready to adopt an Islamic dress. Now what would you say to that? I am not joking. Please think about this guys and answers

i myself am an american convert to islam. i think that people are taking it upon themselves to read and research the real islam. because the islam the media portray is not what islam is really about. for years now what people know about islam is learned from the crazies they see on t.v. but that is not islam at all.

i think that when a person approaches islam with an open mind they will find that it is not as foreign or outrageous as some would like it so seem. it is in fact directly related to judaism and christianity and shares most of the same key beliefs (adam & eve, the abrahamic god, the ten commandments, to name just a very few).

as for the model converting and wanting to adopt the traditional islam dress, good for her. to each his or her own, if it makes her happy then more power to her. i personally don't wear traditional islamic dress on a daily basis, but everyone has different experiences.

Honestly, I think Al Qeda palys a huge role in this. Not because all Muslims are terrorists but because Al Qeda, United States current foreign policy and the media coverage of all this has brought a lot of attention to Islam. So some people, particularly the educated and civilised people will question all of this and turn to more reliable/factual resources to get a better understanding. These people will quickly learn that most sterotypes of Islam are in fact the polar oposite of Islam. Additionlaly they will learn that Muslim is a good way to combat a lot of owrld problems. What I am refering to in particualr when I mention ideology am refering to its ruels on waging war, helping others and being open minded.

Salaam brother,
The reason is because Islam is a true religion. ppl in the other religions are given a wrong idea about the Muslims aswellas our religion. i happened to get a video tape of a great scholar who converted to Islam from Christianity, he said, they were taught that Muslims kiss the ground 5 times a day and they worship a black stone. now u tell me, if u hear this wont u laugh at the stupidity. ppl don't take the pains to know Islam, they just believe blindly what they r being told. and about the model u said, she has chosen the right path, this i am saying is because, she was a model for a long time she must have come across a lot of problems in her life because she had to expose her body for her profession, i have tested this on myself and got to know of the results myself. the Islamic way of dressing for women is the best, it protects the woman in all ways.

it is stated in the Quran that truth stands out from falsehood. when a person has wealth he could buy a bed but not sleep he could even buy people but not friends. these famous celebs who had everything but not peace went out to search for peace and when they came across Islam that's where they found peace.

I didn't not convert by force. I converted by choice. I found Islam to be the one, absolute truth. Anyone who wants to convert, we will welcome with open arms, but all we ask is that you truly believe in the Qur'an and the words of Allah passed through the Prophet Mohammed (pbuh), not just because it is the "popular" thing to do. Islam is not a fad, like Madonna and Brittney Spears were making Kaballah out to be.

As-Salaamu Alaikum - Peace be upon you

Well I myself reverted because I had friends who were Muslim and got to know the true meaning behind Islam through them. So I reverted. I'm an American women revert to Islam. I believe that many people especially women from the West revert to Islam because they see the truth of Islam and realize that it is not as barbaric as it seems to outsiders.

i think it has been widely reported in media that the number of converts is escalating. The reason is that publicity, good or bad, gets people to think about it, the more they try to understand it the more they find the truth and peace and harmony. May Allah keep this going faster and faster, amin, peace to you all
