Not all Christians believe it is a sin. I am ELCA Lutheran and we do not teach that homosexuality is a sin. Perhaps its unique to my church (I cant speak for all ELCA Lutherans and I know not all Lutherans in general feel this way), but our pastors stress that anywhere where there is love being exchanged is not a sin. We also believe that even if we are wrong about it, it says quite clearly in the Bible that God loves us all and that *He* forgives all sin. There are many churches out there with far less archaic views than those who get out there and blare their beliefs to the world like its the only belief system anyone should have. Unfortunately, the nature of our beliefs makes us less vocal than the "My way or the highway" Christians.
If you are missing the community that a church can offer, I would suggest doing some in depth research into more liberally centered churches, or perhaps temples or cynagogs. If you are more comfortable worshipping and believing on your own, you might find it beneficial to find some sort of online group or something that you can share your beliefs and ideas with. Its always good to have a support system and to know there are people out there that feel the same way you do. You aren't the only person in the world that shares your ideas. My suggestion for a good starting place would be the Unitarian Church, you can learn a lot about all religions through them.

Oh, and for the record, as far as I am aware the only place homosexuality is mentioned in the Bible is in the ond testament where it says that "A man should not lie with a man". If we want to take this literally, I guess Lesbians are cool in the eyes of God, right? Or maybe it means its cool if two dudes have sex, as long as they are standing when they do it? Because the Bible can be hard to understand in places, and because there is no way to tell what God really said or what the man who was writing and translating and passing it down said, we are taught at my church to value the over all message over the little details. What is the over all message? Jesus's new covenant to us was to love each other as he has loved us.
Also, since the point of Christianity is Christ, I have been trying to find a place in the New Testament (you know, the part where Jesus is around) mentions homosexuality. I have been unable to thus far. If you want to follow the Old Testament and disreguard what Jesus taught, thats cool, but that makes you Jewish, not Christian.
I hope all these "My way or the highway" Christians have good days though.
Peace be with you.

Well you have serious problem then because the first disagreement youve shared with us is on the subject of homosexuality with which the Bible is deadly crystal clear about. If you cant get that right, what hope do you have to interpret the hard stuff? Jesus affirmed the law the many times including Matthew 5:17 and huge part of the law repeating countless times is laws against SEXUAL IMMORALITY. These laws have been passed down over and over, repeated many times, people punished for it in the OT, reaffirmed in the NT in virtually every book of length. You cannot claim to be a follower of Jesus and call him a liar. If there was nothing wrong with homosexual relationships and its trespass were not universal and so severe, he wouldve told us. Instead he affirmed the law and told us to LEAVE our lives of sin. You obviously have a hatred for the church as well as an affinity for homosexuality. So which is keeping you from God more?

indignant candy is a retard that blindly believes what ever she reads. the only reason its undesirable is reason homosexuality potential much less human beings and much less human beings potential much less donations to the chruch. to no longer point out they might would desire to respond to why some definitely everyone seems to be like that and others no longer. The greater genuine religions and that i say greater genuine reason no faith is one hundred% appropriate is conscious that its no longer a affliction like some stupid human beings say yet its led to via reincarnation being born a woman in a million existence and a male interior the subsequent. I knew those that have been gay provided that they have been toddlers like 10 yrs previous, the way they talked, the flaws they have been into and continually perceive with the girls instead of the boys and ect. i'd desire to tell they might finally end up being that way and later in existence as quickly as I met them they have been infact gay. If it replace right into a affliction then technological understanding would desire to perceive it via now, to show why would god say its a sin while its a ''affliction'' provided that while is the being ill a sin, oh I have been given a chilly so im sinning against god. How stupid is that..

Sorry, being straight is not a sin. You have to be more clear. Sexual immorality of any kind, whether gay or not, is a sin. Homosexual sex is a mortal sin in the bible. This is loud and clear, not an interpretation. But so is incest, bestiality, adultery, etc, etc. Also, being gay isn't a sin--gay sex is the sin. There is a distinction. By the way, I'm an agnostic and I've read the bible in great detail out of curiosity. I am not speaking from personal belief or bias, just answering your question from what I have read.

Homosexual acts...and I stress the word ACTS...are described as an abomination in the Bible. While some Christian thought may ascribe even marital sex to be inherently sinful, it is not on the same level.

The definition of Christ follower is Christian. Christians are people who believe that Jesus died for the sins of all who believe that He is God's only begotten Son, that He died in our place for our sins and that He now lives.

Yes, we all have sinned and that is why we need Jesus. We need Him to be our sacrifice, we need Him to be our leader, we need Him to be our friend and we need His forgiveness. Jesus changes our hearts, minds and actions in order for us to become sanctified (pure, holy and sinless) when we follow Him and His teachings.

Any sexual activity that goes on that is not in the boundary of marriage between 1 man and 1 woman, is sin. Sexual intimacy is blessed by God within marriage. This is taught in God's word, the Bible. Not thought up by humans.

P.S. If pastors express that anywhere love is expressed it is not sin. They are correct. Jesus has told us to love each other. If the pastors express that anywhere sex is practiced outside of marriage between 1 man and 1 woman, by God's word, they are wrong and not teaching God's word.

Being straight is the only non-sin sex.God approves of a man and his wife (period). No where does the bible call that sin (I've read and studied the bible several times). What is a "Christ follower"? Only those who accept Jesus' shedding of His blood on the cross and His resurrection are christians (Christ Followers).
