standard poodle and lab is a labradoodle. standard poodle and golden ia a golden doodle.
i despise the breeders of these dogs. you really don't know what the coat is going to be like. some are just like poodles, and some are just kind of wirey looking. in either case, it's just a so called designer breed that breeders are charging outragous prices for. in most cases the new owners have no idea how to take care of the coat. they end up coming in to groom shops matted to the skin, and then the stupid owners don't want you to shave it off. yet they don't have the time to sit down and brush their dog.
they are very sweet dogs but so are poodles, goldens and labs. if you want a mixed breed go to a shelter and maybe you can find a hairy matted large dog that would love to have a forever home. and you'l save a whole lot of money too.

Whether you'd use a poodle for the female or a retreiver would depend on why you were crossing these two breeds.
If the female is a poodle then its more likely - but not guaranteed- that the pups would have a poodle type curly coat.
The reason why its not guaranteed is because this is not a breed and so there are no guarantees how the pups will turn out. This is a genetic mix, sometimes you get lucky and sometimes you don't.
A breed is a true type. This is a cross breed, despite what some people will tell you.
There is no guarantee that they will be 'hypoallergenic' dogs and to cover yourself legally you should NOT advertise the pups as such.
People with asthma can develop an allergy to the dog after they buy the pup; if they then have an attack they could sue you for misrepresentation, so watch yourself.

There is no such breed as a Labradoodle. If a Labrador and Poodle have a litter the puppies are cross breeds and it doesn't make the slightest bit of difference which is the father and which is the mother. Of course, I'm assuming that the breeder has the common sense only to use a Standard Poodle.
There is no legitimate reason to do this type of mating but if it is done, both sets of parents need to be tested for the hereditary diseases present in both breeds, otherwise they risk being sued if the puppies turn out to be suffering from bad hips or bad eyes.
No mixes make good pups in the sense that there are far too many crossbred dogs in animal shelters already.

I've got a fantastic Labradoodle - she's the best dog a family could have. Makes no difference which parent is which. I love them being cross-breeds. It is important to make sure the parents are health tested. The more generations that have been back crossed with poodles and Labradoodle to Labradoodle the steadier the coat is. They are bred from two intelligent breeds - make sure you meet both parents and have time to train them well!

Labradoodles & Goldendoodles are not breeds. They are mixes. And no it doesn't matter which parent is the Poodle or the Lab or Golden It's the same no matter.
Neither mix makes the best pups. Since they are mixes there is no way of knowing what yuo will end up with regardless of which mix you get.

It doesn't matter because either way, they are not a breed. They are mixed, and people should adopt them from shelters instead of buying them from crooks.

Please just go to the humane society & adopt a mixed breed. Then you can "make up" your own name for your "designer" breed. The "labra-doodle" is a breed made up by people who want to dupe the unsuspecting public to paying exhorbidant funds for a mixed breed!
