For some reason, the answer is yes - it will help a bit. Tanned skin helps mask many imperfections, such as stretch marks, splotchy skin and cellulite.
The good news is your stretch marks WILL get lighter with time. Just make sure you moisturize well....you may also want to consider looking into TriLastin SR, it is supposed to get rid of stretch marks permanently and works very well from what I'm told. Good luck!

Tanning may fade them a tad, but not to anything in the long run. Try Palmer's Coco Butter lotion for Stretch Marks. It's the best thing for stretch marks beside going under the knife!

Cocoa butter is used for both preventing stretch marks and treating them. If the weight gain is due to pregnancy, the cocoa butter should be rubbed daily on the affected area. Cocoa butter should be applied to the skin soon after a warm water bath, when the pores are open and the cocoa butter is easily absorbed. Shea butter may also be used instead of cocoa butter. it would propose you're carriers to them so which you're probable to get greater for the time of being pregnant. they are genetic and no quantity of creams will ward off them yet they do cut back down and fade after the start. those you do have could worsen yet won't. they're going to look worse as they get stretched nonetheless. I have been given some little stretch marks on my abdomen for the time of my final being pregnant yet after the start they have been so small that they've been hardly sizeable. i'm 34 weeks now with my 2nd and the unique stretch marks look extensive back whether it is in trouble-free terms via fact they have been stretched out. i do no longer think of they are any diverse from final time.

I had strech marks when I was pregnant with my 2nd child. I was getting married (to the dad) and tanned for 2 months before our wedding. It made them stand out a little more b/c the rest of me was tan, and they were still white. But before I was pale and they were pinkish. Depends on which look you prefer!! I wouldn't say it was worse, just different shades.

Natural tanning actually helped hide my stretch marks, and they are less noticable now that I'm not tan,, but be carefull because if they burn it hurts really bad. But this is just my experience, everyones skin is deifferent and it could work for you, or it could make them worst.

I know I'm going to be the bad guy here, but yes, tanning will help in the sense of making them less noticable and bring the skin tone back to a more even color.

When I tan my stretch marks from when I my baby seem to fade, but you can use cocoa butter cream to help them go away.
Myderma also helps with the stretch marks.

Just like when you tan with scars they become whiter, stretch marks are the same. the skin cells have less melanin thus do not tan.
