Is it the same as store bought yellow mustard? Using it in a receipe to make salsbury steak. Thanks.

prepared mustard is any type of mustard that is of spreading consistency. It could be sweet, dijon, or just plain old yellow. As opposed to dry mustard that is sold in a spice can, and is dry and powdery.

Mustard in itself is a plant. So prepared mustard is the kind you buy in a jar or squeeze bottle at the grocery store.

P.S. Do not put mustard in or on salisbury steak...YUK
