Well since you don't say what he did, I assume he cheated on you! If that is what he did, why wait~break up with him NOW!!
Otherwise, I'd say wait until the 15th!!

That is a very nasty thing to do! You should break up before or after. You will leave him hanging on Valentine's Day?? What in the hell did he ever do to you??? I feel sorry for you; I just think short of beating the pulp out of you this is too serious. He might commit suicide honestly!

Actually it's a great idea if you want to punctuate how you dislike the behavior he is showing. This will put this breakup first and foremost in his mind for at least a month! Plus it will offer you a good chance at getting back together but on your terms.
