Mouth ulcers are caused by many disorders. These include canker sores, leukoplakia, gingivostomatitis, oral cancer, oral lichen planus, oral thrush, herpes simplex, and other disorders. The skin lesion of histoplasmosis may also appear as a mouth ulcer. Mostly its harmful bacteria in your mouth. Sometimes small abrasians occur when brushing or eating, etc and that allows for the bacteria to get into your gums or cheek epithelials.

I used to get them as a kid every once in a while, haven't had any for a while. I remember sucking on them till they popped and then that let all the buildup stuff inside to come out. However, that just temporary relief because afterwards if you don't keep your mouth rinsed out with either listerine or salt water they just come back. Treatment i would assume would be just to practice extra good oral hygiene until they go away on thier own.

A variation of the herpes virus most likely, but there can be other causes as well. This link explains it all, so I will not repeat it all. Treatmentwise, though, I would love ot help with. I know that Peroxyl by the company Colgate works very well. It is a mouth wash with peroxide and it speeds healign time and helps with the pain as well. Another product is the Canker Cover. I used it and I would swear it worked as well as it clams to. The claims sound too good to be true but it does work. The only suggestion I have for this product is to only use it while you sleep. It forms a gel-like protective patch that was slightly bothersome in that I kept playing with it and so I made it fall off sooner than it should have. Anyway good luck!
