We just bought our puppy in September. He is a pomeranian/shih tzu and was 10 weeks when we got him. He is now starting to grow in his adult teeth. He has been teething a lot but has not had any baby teeth fall out yet. The weird thing is, his two new adult teeth have grown in behind his baby teeth! Is this normal? He hasn't been acting any different than he normally does so we're not sure what to think.

It happens sometimes...The best thing to do is see your vet - He may need to have his puppy teeth extracted if they don't seem loose or are falling out on their own.

It happenes a lot. Sometimes when the adult teeth come in they're unable to push out the baby teeth (called disciduous teeth). Your vet can do a simple surgery to extract the pesky disciduous teeth. If you have that done the same time the dog is neutered, it's less trying for the dog.

My daughter has a Yorkie that his baby teeth didn't come out and she had to take him to the Vet to have them pulled after the adult teeth came in behind them.

It happens but is not healthy. Have the vet check to see if they need to be pulled before they fuse with the adult teeth.

I wouldn't be too concerned...they will start falling out soon enough. If you want, get some cow hooves at any pet store or go get some real bones from the butcher that still have a little meat on them. They worked great for our pups!
