I have these weird head pains that happen off and on. The best way to describe them are like shooting pains or almost like a burning sensation. They happen all over and at any time. There does feel like there's some pressure but not like a normal headache. I've been to my PCP who gave me a neurological exam andd thinks it's just tension headaches. I have a hard time believing that since, to me, this isn't a headache. Any ideas??

Headache is a pain in the head, scalp or neck. Headaches can be
caused by minor problems like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more
serious reasons like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can have harmful side
effects, so it is better to modify your lifestyle. More information

Cluster headaches or migraines are very intense and severe headaches, usuallly located on one side of the head or the other. What you are describing sounds like tension headaches, like your doc said. But to be safe, I would go and see a doctor that specializes in headaches and let him examine you and maybe do an MRI or a PET scan to see what is going on.

It's probably a sinus headache. Are you congested? Excedrin helps for the pain, but you can take Sudafed as a nasal decongestant, or Afrin nose spray to relieve the pressure. But, if you want to steer clear of using prescriptions, then there are other methods - this is just for immediate, (occasional) relief.

You should go to a specialist. My grandson has migraine headaches - it could be that. I know that sinus headaches can also be like you describe, because I have them, and believe me, they are extremely painful. I have had stabbing, jabbing pains in my head when I have sinus. Best for you to go to a specialist.

you mentioned 'cluster headaches' Many cluster headaches respond very well to high flow oxygen. did your doc try that? Did you ask for an evaluation by a neurologist? good luck, I know it's hard to survive when you're inpain.
