depends on the time of year. they won't move in unless it is breeding season, and the house is the correct size for them.

Move it at least 20 yards from the feeders. Birds don't like a lot of traffic near their homes. If you are trying to attract wrens mount it under the eaves of your home with the opening facing away from the prevailing wind. Make sure the hole is the required size for the bird you want to attract.

Bluebirds like their homes mounted about 6-7 feet up the eastern side of a tree. Again make sure the hole is the right size.

Most info on the requirements of different birds can be found here.

I read you should not put a birdhouse by a birdfeeder, I guess because all birds feed from a feeder and a birds home they might feel threatened being near it. If you dont get birds in it I would move the feeder.

Hi there. Different houses will attract different birds. Observe what birds are in your area and build them a home that they find acceptable. Good luck and have a tweet year.

Well, they will not start looking for nesting spots until breeding season, which will start in the next month or so. Not sure where you live but common cavity nesters include wrens, tree swallows, bluebirds, chickadees, and nuthatches, so hopefully someone will find it.

if you have it up high they will probably start in the spring-if it is low they will probably never use it as it isn't safe from predators-up near your eaves is a good place somewhere cats can't climb birds aren't stupid and can tell if a place is safe from cats or prying eyes
