Why should it be nasty? Nasty in a hygienic sense? Then we couldn't ever touch each other at all, for it's not only through feet that things can be passed. Better stop shaking hands. Or nasty in a sexual way? Seems like you're reading a lot into an innocent gesture, not everyone is into feet that way. And even if that is the case, why should it be nasty, holding hands in public is accepted (or should be).
