When your arguing with someone do you usually say stuff you don't mean or say stuff you mean?

For example:

Joe : I'm ashamed to be seen in public with you.

OR

Amiee : I hate you

do you actually mean what you say? Or just say it to be mean and hurt someone's feelings? When you say something when your mad what are the chances that the person means it?

Both. Usually people use an argument to say stuff that's been on their mind, but it comes out in an angry way. But not to mention, there's things that are said out of anger and they don't mean it. When it's a lover's quarrel, the gloves can come off and say something stupid like your d*** is little and you don't satisfy me, and that could be true, or like you said you can say I hate you, but really dont' mean it. You might hate that person in the heat of the moment, but it might not be a permanent feeling, because after you guys calm down the realization of what each other said sets in and you either feel guilt or resentment. So it depends on the argument if you mean it or not, but the majority of the time, it's things that are said out of anger to hurt each other's pride, feelings, manhood and so on. But that's just apart of human nature I guess.

I'm older now, 43 today. I rarely say things in anger anymore, words at those times are usually truely what's been on my mind and meant to hurt the other person or let them know how I feel about them.

I try not to say things that I know are untrue, because what is the point? I usually argue in order to get my point across, not just to be mean.

But I suppose that everyone can over exaggerate when angry.

when your mad you say alot of untrue hurtful things.... your temper gets the best of you and you say anything that you know will hurt the other person it happens to every one
