I told her I liked her a whole lot, but I could not date her. She is a very tenative person, and she has listened to me tell her my feelings a half dozen times wanting to know every time. She keeps telling me she wants to be friends, but I think what she thinks is I rejected her. How can I make it up to her? I really care about her, but I want to take things slowly. Can I ask her to be friends for now with possibility of it growing into more???

Be totally honest, and be sensitive about it. She may not wait until your ready. I hope your friendship last. You have to be friends first to make a relationship work.

What you should do is talk to her tell her how you feel about her try to explain what happen that's if you really care about her try to be sweet and convincing and I promise you it will go well.
