As a revert to Islam I find my religion a lot better than the one I left which was Christianity. My husband who is also Muslim treats me like a queen. Muslim men respect me for my mind and not my body. From the outside it can seem exotic and strange at the same time if you don't understand it. Though I do think that Muslim women who are totally clothed in Abaya, Hijab, and Niqab are mysterious. I first learned about Islam when I was 13 because I was studying the major 5 religions in the world. After 9/11 I thought that Muslims were barbaric people who oppressed women and were out to kill everyone.(Sorry to any Muslim brothers and sisters I offend here). The clothing is great in my opinion. I wear hijab right now but once my husband and I go back to Saudi Arabia I plan on also wearing the niqab and abaya. Not only to make my husband happy but also to please ALLAH and also to make myself more secure in mind and body. I plan on wearing normal western clothing under the abaya of course. The food is great. I've learned to make Kappsa which I love. I love Ramadan because it gets me closer to ALLAH and allows me to experience what the poor people go through every day though it's a struggle not to eat anything during the day. I got closer to Islam last year when I left Christianity through my ex male Muslim friends because I used to talk to them about Islam. Now that I am a Muslim I feel more liberated as a Muslim than I ever felt before in my life. I hope this answers your question.

Certainly. Anything outside the norm is "exotic", though in the U.S. Islam has a very negative connotation, and the opposite is true for most things described as exotic. I find the way Islam is portrayed is negative as a whole, and I find it difficult to comprehend the basis of Islam, much less the culture as defined by it. I suppose everything I read or hear to to a certain extent shows what I can only describe as the inequality and the oppression that seems to make up a large portion of Islamic life. I do not mean to sound demeaning, however the clash of cultures is overwhelming when dealing in Islam as viewed by modern and enlightened portions of western society.

you will detect 'some' people who think of or deny something. i do no longer think of it relatively is an exceedingly Jewish phenomenon. From a logical point of view, i might argue thusly: Judaism is the undispituted middle and foundation for all destiny monotheistic religions. If we settle for that God might later commision somebody to alter His unique regulation, why end at purely one, or 2 or X? in accordance to Christians, Jesus replaced the regulation, yet whilst Mohammed did the comparable this became fake. in accordance to Muslims, Mohammed replaced the regulation, yet all later 'prophets' (see: Baha'i, Sikhism) are fake. there is as a effect a controversy to be made that Judaism is better because of this logical consistency it relatively is absent in later variations. i'm no longer saying that Judaism is 'extra effective' because of this argument, purely that i'm confident some do. yet another threat is purely the delight of being #one million. i do no longer understand what some Jews might deny having the comparable God, yet in actuality it relatively is all basically a count of semantics. the actuality in the back of the words is in all possibility that the guidelines of Islam are so appreciably diverse from the guidelines of Judaism (in those 'some Jews' eyes) that it relatively is as though we've diverse Gods, for the comparable God would not command the two rules. As I pronounced it relatively is relatively basically a count of semantics, as a results of fact the actual which ability is that one interpretation is better to the different, no longer that there are certainly separate Gods.

I used to think that somewhat, but with recent events. My opinion of Muslims has nearly fallen into the toilet.

All I see anymore is murder, intolerance, disrespect, dishonesty, indoctrination, selfishness, and close-mindedness. The word exotic has an attractive connotation. I don't find much that is attractive about Muhammadism. I am sorry if that sounds disrespectful, but I'm sure you realize that I could be much more disrespectful than I have chosen .

The clothing is too effeminate but the food is of greater interest.

I see the clothing as very cultural and 3rd world. Disregarding the religious philosphies of the Muslim religion, I find the culture aspect of it very interesting.

I like that they put God in front of everything else. I just don't like the methods in which they "praise" Him.

There is nothing appealing about islam. Actually it's repulsive to me. I cannot imagine belonging to a belief that allows people to cheer when others blow up innocent people. Who cares what they wear or eat? Look how they treat each other! Women are nothing. Other sects should die. Jews are considered pigs. Mothers are happy their children are used as bombs. That's as respectful as I can get towards this false teaching.

May God Bless you.

Most of the food is not much different from what other peoples eat. And most of our "holidays" are not so much festive as they are a spiritual time.
