Unfortunately there's not much you can do. Everyone takes their own time to get over/ heal from a previous relationship and he's still dealing with his feelings. You can let him know that you are there for him, listen to him if/when he wants to talk, and just let him know you are interested in him when he is ready. Hopefully it will work out that he gets over his feelings and you are still available/interested and then you two can take a chance on romance. Good luck to you ;-)

it takes time for people to get over someone they loved/love there is nothing you can do to change that. I have the same problem with my best guy friend he still is all in love with a girl who treated him very badly and even cheated on him and now wants nothing to do with him anymore loves someone elese but yet he is still up her butt 24/7 and cant seem to let go. Best thing you can do is just sit back and be a good friend be there for support and in time he will relize that girl is not for him and he will move on and be free to love someone elese.

it is really hard i know how you feel. All you can do is just be there for him. You don't want to be pushing him because that will only make things worse. just give him some time. it does take time but just let himn know that your there for him.

Just don't let him use you and don't let him play you. If you don't think he is 100% present in your relationship you will end up getting hurt.
