fruity but not too sweet

I tried Jacob's Creek sparkling one. My hubby and I just burped after everyone mouth of it. It is also not crisp and fruity enough... not sure if you think the same because my colleagues think it is nice...

Really, other than sparkling Roses, the best kind to get are in the French Style. Unfortunately, Beringer White Zin has kind of spoiled the US market for Pink Wines, causing most US wineries to make cheap, sweet, overly fruity, but otherwise virtually tasteless 'Blush' wines. These ARE NOT tradtional Rose' wines.

As the French drier style comes back into fashion (it's on it's way), good Rose' wines will be easier to find. Try visiting a wine store and explaining what you want, and what you don't want, and see if they can guide you in the right direction.

And remember, even the best Rose' can be ruined by serving it too cold. Be sure to only put it in the fridge for 30-60 minutes before serving. You want it *chilled*, not cold.

Good luck in your search! : )

Geoff Merrill Grenache Rose, is fantastic. Grenache is a grape big on alcohol (up to 15%) and therefore helps give the wine a good backbone. Also the "free run" of the grape juice over the grape skins is quite extensive thus the strong blush colour.
It is not a sparkly, but still and blinking good, just like most of the stuff he produces.
