Use an ionic flat iron. It will not curl back easly.
Solia makes a Tourmaline Ceramic Ionic Flat Iron.
According to the Solia flat iron website, "tourmaline,
a precious stone, is used to generate up to 6 times more
negative ions than traditional ceramic irons".( $75/85)

I have extremely naturally curly hair and I like to wear it straight and curly. I have a CHI straightener (which was pretty expensive) but totally worth it (you can usually find them for as low as $85 dollars on the internet, but I paid $140 for mine : ( ) And this way you can still wear your hair curly, instead of having it chemically straightened!
Heres the CHI site, but I would check Ebay or Froogle first.

Good chemical straightening at a salon costs around $300, and good flat irons run $100. Since you didn't say what kind of straightener, I'm guessing you mean permanent and non-perm.

Revlon sells one with chrome plating. The plates heat up quickly and work very good. They are usually 10.00 or so. I would invest in john frieda as well. they have an anti frizz serum and anti frizz spray that smooth the hair down.

Get a CHI flat iron - it works great. Its like $100 or so but it does last a long time and it has like a ten year warranty on it. so if anything happens to it then you can get another one. you can get them from most beauty salons and if they dont have them in stock, they can more than likely order one for you.

For cheap, get a "wet2straight." If you want a good investment, get a Chi. I finally got one and I LOVE IT!
