I have a new kitten, approx. 6 months old, that is always jumping on, and just generally bothering my other cat who is not exactly old (2 years), but is just not interested in playing all the time and gets very annoyed. How can I train him to leave her alone? He has plenty of toys and also another cat who loves to play with him.

just watch them and make sure the dont get too rough, a spray bottle filled with water does just the trick. they will grow out of it eventually. a good idea is to try and get each of them alone at different times and give them idividual attention. dont worry it will get better!!!

Let the cats work it out. I adopted a 10-year-old female and a 6-month-old male in December. The kitten, of course, wants desperately to play, and he tries to jump his sister. But she has let him know she's not interested. For the most part, the kitten remembers, with his only lapses coming when he's running around like a mad man. But a quick hiss from his sister gets him to back off.

A year ago, my parents got a kitten who pestered her 7-year-old brother. She learned quickly to back off.

I have two cats which are four years old (Jessie and Mau) and one cat being 1 year Isabell). Isabelle was always hastling Mau to play and I generally left them to sort it out. I found that in the end they came to a mutal understanding. Isabell is warned off when Mau doesn't want to play and she's leant to back off when needed.

The older cat will teach him, I would not get involved. They have their own social ways. I would let them work it out if no one is getting hurt.
