1) Who has the right of way? Car 1 turning right or Car 2 turning left from the opposite direction on a traffic signal with a directional green light on.

2) What would happen if car 2 has yield for left turn when cars from opposite directions have straight green light at the traffic signal. Who has the right of way car 1 as usual is turning right or car2.

As a professional driver I have these answers for your questions.

To the first question, If the car turning left has a directional arrow then the car turning right has a red. The car with the directional arrow has the right of way as the car with the red light should yeild before committing to the turn.

The second question has a straight foreward answer as well. The car turning right has the right of way. The reason for this is the car turning left has to yeild to oncoming traffic and the car turning right is turning onto a street that has a red light and has no opposing traffic to cross.

I hope this helps you

Question 1: Car 2 has the right of way because it has a green turning arrow which means that it is that car's time to turn without yield.

Question 2: Car 1 would have the right of way because Car 2 is supposed to yield for cars coming the opposite direction, and then after Car 1 has turned and there are no oncoming cars, then Car 2 may turn.

Generally, the car who has a direct signal has it's right of way. For the first question - My best answer would be Car 2 b/c of the green "intersection is for you to go through" is on...

I'm guessing for q2 that the green turn light is not lit anymore.. therefore, Car 1 has its right of way

In Alabama, 2 things have to be considered....

(1) The guy with the bigger truck;

(2) The guy with the crappiest car...

I usually give them the right away. Especially the guy with the crappy car because he won't care if he gets hit.
