They gave my grandmother a pass to go home in Canada for an infection in her organs. They put her on a waiting list. They said she was all right to go home and relax. She came to the US and they told her if she would have waited one more weekend she would have not been with us today.Lucky for her and us she had the surgery in the US and she is still with us today. It really makes me wonder if we really need health care that will put us on a waiting list even though some of us have worked are arss's off to be able to walk in and pay for the best.

That's the real problem with socialized health care. The value of the care really drops. A lot of people don't realize this. You'll pay for it in other areas in taxes. It's gonna save the average person much money and it could cost them their life. My brother was amazed when he was in Canada how many years behind health care was compared to the US.

It's a mixed bag. We have excellent care in the USA, but it is the most expensive by world standards. Not everyone can afford a doctor. (Just read the comments on Yahoo Answers).

Socialist countries are finding that the cost of health care is skyrocketing there, too. Advancements such as MRI scanners, endoscopic instruments, newer treatment regimens, etc, are all horrendously expensive.
