This may be a really silly question, but I got married in Gretna Green in January. I live in the west midlands, do I have to register the marriage in my district or is the marriage certificate we have from Gretna all we need.

If i have read that correctly then you must register wedding in Scotland but unsure.
If in doubt phone Gretna they'll advise you correctly.

No, the marriage is registered as taking place in Gretna, as that is where it did actually take place. That's it, all above board.

Your marriage certificate should be enough for you to change your name.
However, did you know that legally, you can only change your name by Deed Poll! Although a married name change is recognised, it isn't technically legal!
