The bible tells us that no one is good......not one.
Sin is sin no matter how you try to dress it up.
There isn't a sin meter that I know of...........but Christ came to cleanse us from all sin. If you're gay.....you're sinning. If you're straight....you're still somehow sinning....it's in our sin nature as human beings. Now....homosexuality is blatant....and so is molesting a child......but the key is: They are forgiveable! May God be praised.........
Amen

Here' s what I know after reading the bible (out of curiosity--I'm technically an agnostic). Homosexuality is a sin (when acted out) punishible by death in the bible. Being gay is not a sin, but acting on it and having sex with the same sex is a mortal sin. So is murder (to answer your question about which is worse). However, you can repent and still be saved. This requires not only a regret of sinning and asking for forgiveness (and truly wanting it), but changing your life so you don't continue sinning. So, you can redeem yourself by repenting and sinning no more. We don't judge the degree of sins--god does, and it's pretty detailed about certain things in the bible. Sorry for the bad news--no one said life (or anything else for that matter) is fair. However, you can also look at it as fair in the sense that at least you get a chance to repent and be saved, gay or not. Once again, this is what I have read in the bible, not my personal judgement or belief.

I think that following the ten commandments helps you to be a good person. They don't say anything about being gay. I think that society has corrupted the face of religion and has twisted it to make beliefs suit their needs. If a 'Christian' is afraid of homosexuality, he is going to find something somewhere that says that it is sinful - and it doesn't matter if it is or not. The motivation behind hate is fear. As for judging the degree of sin - that is God's place. I have no right to say who is doing wrong and who isn't - and neither does anyone else.

God says no man is good. God says homosexuality is a sin and if you are not saved, you will be condemned.
If you are homosexual and you accept Jesus, He will help you deal with your sin. It does not mean that you will never be tempted by it again (you will for the rest of your life). You may even fall into that temptation after you receive salvation. But the key is to try not to sin. If you feel bad for doing it again, then you know that you have grieved the Holy Spirit and you must ask forgiveness and repent (no matter how many times you fail).
Good works will never get you into Heaven. Only accepting Christ will.
Both sins are equal in the eyes of God. They are both punishable by Hell. Some are more detestable to God, but all have equal punishment.

If someone is gay and has accepted Jesus into their lives then they will go to Heaven. They need to pray and read the Bible and ask God to help them with the temptation of out of marriage sex. Gay or not it is against God to have sexual relations outside of marriage. While I don't agree with gay marraige, it's not my call. I do believe that God does not agree with same sex anything. That is why He made Adam and Eve. Just because someone is gay, it does not mean they automatically go to Hell. It will be a temptation they live with until they die, but if they are close with God it will make it easier. We are all sinners and we all have our temptations. God gives us the free gift of eternal life and doesn't expect us to be perfect to get it. In answer to your last question on who is more sinful, though you may not like it, they are the same in God's eyes. They are both lost to God, until they admit thier mistakes and call to God to save them. When that happens they are both forgiven and can live in eternity with God. As for who are we to judge. We aren't the judge and never will be. I will never say anyone is condemmed to hell because we don't know what's in thier heart. We won't know until we get there. By the way I'm a sinner too, but I love God and believe Jesus died for my sins, so I am saved and will some day live in Heaven with my Father. It doesn't mean I'm perfect and will never sin, it just means I'm forgiven for my sins and need help staying on the right path.

Don't even bother explaining yourself to closed minded people, I'm sure there are a lot of Christians who believe as you do, but as you know there are a lot of people who claim that it's a sin to be gay and you're gonna go to hell. The thing is if these people aren't gay who are they to judge. I believe people are born gay and then they are people who are attracted to both sexes, and then there are people who are just heterosexual.
Who are we to say which is right, it's just like saying today that if you're black you're wrong when none of us had any control over who we really are. I'm sure people are going to say being gay is wrong but I believe that are wrong. Like I said if that's who you are that's who you are, and I believe God made some straight people and some gay people. It's not a big deal, it's only a big deal to people who want to judge and condemn others.
As you stated life is not merely black and white, as a lot of Christians claim to be, no one can really judge who is good and who is bad, because let's admit it, we've all done really fantastic things in our lives, and we've all done things that weren't so fantastic. I think we all have the capacity to be good and bad, and most of us live in that gray area. We basically do what we know and as each day goes on hopefully we grow a little bit more. That's all you can ask of yourself, and as long as you're not hurting anyone your sex life has absolutely nothing to do with your character it's just a way to have fun and express yourself.

Sexual urges are the only "sin" that everyone feels within. And as such, it is the one that provokes the most defensiveness. People who are feeling guilty about their own sinfulness frequently will look for someone else to condemn whom they consider more chastisable. Hence, since most people are not homosexual, they have turned those who are homosexual into the scapegoats to deflect their own sexual urges. They are called "unnatural," "carnal," and "fleshly."
However, homosexuals and heterosexuals live under the same rational rules of "don't do to someone else what you would not want done to you in similar circumstances." This is the cardinal rule that is universally applied to determine ethical behavior. While there are commentaries and interpretations, the guideline holds regarding both sexual behavior and the treatment of sexual minorities.
Turning to scriptural references forces everyone to pick and choose which behaviors warrant judgment in the modern age (as opposed to the era in which it is written). Drawing from rational ethics, one can conclude that ethical sexual behavior can be carried out by both homosexual and heterosexual persons, and as such it is unreasonable to cast all behavior of one group as sin while allowing the other group a sinless route.

It is not the disorder that condemns him , it is the exercising of the sin, the act of homosexuality. People can have the sin of gluttony within them but, not act on the sin. There have been plenty of times that I have been tempted to do a particular sin or another because of the sin that is in me but, I resist the temptation. Being a gay person we can understand but, you must be celibate and avoid the gay lifestyle.

I don't believe it is up to any person to draw the line on "which is considered more sinful" God is the only one who can answer this question (or series of questions ;))
Personally, it is hard for me to believe that God would send a truly good person to hell for being gay. For that matter it is hard for me to believe God would send a good person to hell for not being a Christian (what about the people of the world who have never even heard of Christianity?). And so on. But ultimately it isn't up to me, or anyone on earth to decide.
So my answer to you is that I don't know. All I have are opinions and personal beliefs.

The Almighty YHVH set up a system. He sent His “Son” YAHOSHUA to die for the sins of mankind so they would not have to. (They could choose to, but did not have to). Any person who chooses not to allow Yahoshua to take care of their sins, chooses to remain attached to their sins. They thus will wind up in the lake of fire which is YHVH method of cleaning this world, and eliminating sin and sinners. The Creator set aside the Seventh day for rest and worship. Yes that is the day usually called “Saturday”. We are not saved by obedience, we are saved by faith. However we are saved FOR obedience. As He said in John 14:15 (and in many other places) “If you love me, keep my commandments.
Churchianity is a pagan religion. The only thing that will change a person is the indwelling savior Yahoshua. Obviously that is rare in this sinful world.
