I'm a female, 25 years old, average-slim build, otherwise healthy.. eat healthy, very active. But about 4-5 times since last october I've had sudden boughts of pain in my chest. All have been in the evening. Between 20 min-several hours after eating. Pain starts just under my ribcage, it comes on really fast and is excruciatingly painful. I've noticed that all times that it has happen, it started when I changed positions..like went from sitting to standing or standing to laying down, etc. Usually when i go from sitting to standing/walking or to bending over. Every time that it's happened the pain was so bad that I'd have to lay on the floor. it would hurt really bad when I'd breath in at all. it seems to spread to my full chest and upper back. on one occasion it seemed to send shooting pains down my shoulder/right arm.

I've had testing done.. I know it's not my heart, kidneys, liver, gallbladder, or pancreas.

I'm having a scope put down my throat to check for an ulcer. But my doctor as well as myself thinks that's a shot in the dark do to all of my symptoms. We were 90% sure it was my gallbladder. But the ultrasound can back fine.

oh.. and I've also had a slight fever.. between 99-101 degrees, pretty consistantly for the last 2-3 weeks.

I've had an EKG, an ultrasound and lots of bloodwork done. I had previous kidney problems, so they did a full abdominal ultrasound. and they couldn't find a single thing wrong. All they've been able to do so far is give me pain killers. but.. I hate taking them, and the only time I really need them is when I have the really bad attacks. and by the time I'd be able to actually move around to get to the pills the pain would be gone.. let alone wait for the painkillers to kick in. I'm so frustrated today that I keep breaking down in tears. And my doctors seemed stumped.

oh yeah.. a symptom I forgot.. my skin has been slightly itchy for the last couple weeks. Since the attacks of pain have been becoming more frequent.

which is another reason we thought it was my gallbladder.

I'm starting to wonder if they got my ultrasound films mixed up. :)

That's a tough one. I would have bet on the gall bladder, too. I agree with checking your esophagus. The recent onset of fever is worrisome. Have you had a CT or MRI of chest?

You need to have you doctor do a simple blood test and check for H. Pylori. Here are some symptoms :

a dull, gnawing ache
comes and goes for several days or weeks
occurs 2 to 3 hours after a meal
occurs in the middle of the night (when the stomach is empty)
Good luck. I have the same thing, except I throw up almost everytime I eat. Also I have been taking QCO10, it is an antioxident for the body. Please try it!!!
