Mechanic says the resinator between the catalytic converter and the muffler is gone so he needs to replace it and the muffler. He also says it needs new breaks and two tires. What do you think?

Mechanic says it needs a new resonator between the catalytic converter and the muffler and a new muffler. He also says it needs new brakes and 2 new tires. Does this sound reasonable? What should it cost?

Mechanic said the exaust system problem led to the shaking of the car. A hole in a tire/worn front tires led to the pulling to the right. Does this change your view that exaust has no role in my car troubles?

pulling to the right could be a bunch of things. the simplest explanation would be an alignment problem. it could also need the bearings repacked or new tie rods, etc...
as far as the tires go, take a penny and put it in the groove on the tread of the tires that he says need to be replaced. if 1/4-1/2 of lincolns head goes into the groove adn below the tread, then you should be fine. if you can see all of lincolns head, then yes you need to replace your tires.
the shaking probably is because of teh piece between the catalytic converter and the muffler

That sounds about right. Having one tire wear that much could cause a pull. The brakes could be part of the problem. If that side is off a little it will pull the car that way just enough to notice. They exhaust is another problem in itself. The exhaust may cause a rattling noise but should never make the car shake.

the resinator does go bad, but has nothing to do with shaking, nor does the muffler.if you ,like every one else,is on a buget you don't need that done right away. brakes can do this to but 90% of the time it is your tires, look to see if they are worn uneven, if its bad,go get new ones, if not so bad get them rebalanced, you should start with the lowest price first if you try to pay for a problem to go away, alot of times they try to sell a high price item that is link close to most problems.( easy to sell you a $70 brake job and balance the tires free, than to sell you a $15 balance).

Brakes and tires can cause pulling in one direction or another during driving and/or braking. I fail to see what the exhaust system has to do with the car pulling. I'd certainly get another opinion.

Dinky Waffle-Lips. Awwwww, mine wasn't as humorous as some. a minimum of, no longer as humorous as Fluffy Chucklefanny. That one's stable. and how many times an afternoon do young infants snicker? for people who get it: that's so humorous! Mihael Keehl provides Farcus Chickenhump, and Nate River provides Snickle Farcklefrack.

get another mechanic, this one is a thief, pulling to right or left when braking means uneven brake application, just pulling to left or right while driving is alignment problem.always get another opinion when you gut says what it told you about this
