I had this cake back in 4th grade, a classmate brought it in. It wasn't chocolatey or anything, just bundt-shaped and possibly glazed with something. It had little balls you peeled off, size of munchkins maybe. It was so delicious but I can't find out what it is anywhere now that I want to bake it. Help!

When I was in 4-H Club, we used to make this and we called it "Monkey Bread."
Make a batch of yeast dough, roll small amounts (about the size of a walnut) into balls, and dip them one at a time into melted butter, then roll in a mixture of cinnamon and sugar. Some people like to add some chopped nuts or raisins. Arrange the balls in a buttered bunt pan and bake approximately one hour at 350 degrees.
You can use a boxed yeast bread mix. If you do, use the time and temperature indicated on the box.
This is a nice coffee cake. You can adjust the coatings to your taste. Sometimes, I make with red colored sugar. You can be as creative as you like with this.

Here is the recipe I use :D
MONKEY BREAD
4 cans refrigerator biscuits (10 per can)
1 c. sugar
2 tbsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg (optional)
Grease Bundt pan. Cut each biscuit into 4 pieces. Mix sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg in a Ziploc bag. Place quartered biscuits in plastic bag and shake to coat each piece well.
TOPPING:
1 tbsp. cinnamon
1 c. brown sugar
1 1/4 sticks butter, melted
Melt butter and add cinnamon and sugar. Layer 1/2 biscuit pieces in Bundt pan. Cover with 1/2 topping mixture. Layer remaining biscuits and cover with topping. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes. Invert onto plate while still warm. Eat by pulling apart pieces with hands; hence the name, Monkey Bread.

Look in the supermarket freezer section for the Bridgeford Rolls,
Follow directions for thawing/rising... dip in melted butter, dredge in a cinnamon/sugar mixture then bake in a bundt pan. For Easter bread you can dredge the dough balls in a sugar/lemon zest mixture..

Monkey Bread
I have found several recipes. I will leave two links. One easy and one more involved.
http://www.wchstv.com/gmarecipes/monkeybread.html
http://www.cooksrecipes.com/bread/monkey-bread-machine-recipe.html
and one more tip.At walmart, in the freezer section where the bread loaves are you can find a red box with yellow accents. It's monkey bread you can put in the microwave and it comes out almost as good as the original with zero prep and in less than 5 minutes....

I thought monkey bread too, but last month, Kraft Food and Family magazine had a KOOL variation. Regular biscuits with cinnamon/sugar/cream cheese balls in them, then rolled in cinnamon/sugar, then allstacked together and coated with butter and regular table syrup!!!
They were SOOO good!
