My parakeets have breed and hatched 5 eggs. The babies are all pink and featherless as of now. This is the first time they have breed. The female has a yellow head and green body (basically a standard parakeet), the male is a lot lighter in color. He is soft yellow on his head and a light teal for his body. Also his black markings are a lot softer than hers. Any idea what coloer the babies will be??

You might have them like their parents but you might have a mixture of both color in one chick.

Or you might have the same color as their grand-parents.

Or something totally different like I had.

I breed birds.

My budgie (Alpine) Albino female and her mate dark green (Parsley) had 3 Chicks One was yellow Lutino, One was yellow-head aqua blue, and the other was vanilla with red eyes.
Non of their parents or their parents were that color.

it is a good bet that you might get some yellow and teal babies. of course there also might be some just standard yellow and green ones too. usually the colors of the parents are indicative of the color of the fledgelings. the same applies to cockatiels as well.

They shouild come out to be that same color as the parents. But, with the color mix that they have, most of tyour littile one will be green or yellow. You but even get a wthie one with just a hint of color.
