I've been reading a lot about Wicca lately and I'm interested in learning as much as I can. For example, do spells really work? I'd like to start with some simple spells or rituals, but I don't know who to turn to. This religion isn't popular at all in my country, and I haven't found anything on the Internet. Can anyone please recommend me some sites, or at least give me some basic advice? I'd really appreciate it!

Please respond to this only if you're Wiccan or if you show a real interest in this area. I'd rather not hear people telling me that 'magic doesn't exist' just because it doesn't suit their personal beliefs. Thank you.

Magicandspells.com is the Wiccan site I began with. The first spell I ever did came from that site; and it was just a simple spell to warm your body up. It's still on there, too. You should try it out. I've also communicated with the dead using candles. I'd advise you to stay away from sacrifices though, and learn the Wiccan Rede. Just go to google and look it up. The Wiccan Rede is what we Wiccan's follow. "Harm ye none; do what ye will." <- Words of advice. Also, if you'd like to chat or have any other questions, e-mail me! I'll do my best to help you with anything. Frankly; I don't know many people who are Wiccans or who are into it. So, it'd be nice to talk to someone who has the same interest as me. There are many non-believers out there, but don't listen to them.
My e-mail: emptytranquility@hotmail.com
See you later.
P.S: Sterotypes... pay no attention to them either. As much as I liked Willow on BtVS; even if you DO do spells, they won't turn out like those. Those sorts of spells don't exist. You can't just turn someone into a frog, or rip someones skin from their body as she did in season six when she lost her lover. No, our spells are much different than the ones you see on t.v. And no, they aren't like the Harry Potter ones, either.
P.S.S: Don't let the Dark Magic take over. As I said above, "Harm ye none; do what ye will." And that includes not harming yourself.
Blessed be.

I believe that spells work -- I've seen the effects of them. The positive results could have been coincidence, of course, but there's really no way to tell. At the very least, I think that spells have a positive psychological influence.
Please feel free to email me. I've been practicing Wicca for 13 years and teaching for about 5, so I'd be happy to walk you through a basic Wiccan ritual format and some spell theory.
Blessed be, and good luck to you.

Yes Wiccan spells work.
You can learn a lot from www.witchvox.com, www.wicca.com, www.wicca.timerift.net, paganwiccan.about.com
Here is a sample spell, email me for more info.
Love spell,
You need:
A pink candle
a Pen
a piece of paper.
Write your name on the candle with the pen. Lick your thumb and wipe it over your name to seal your intent.
Make a list of the qualities you want in a perfect mate.
Light the candle and place the list under your candle.
(please use common sense when working with FIRE.)

Does Christian prayers really work? Of course. Both spells and prayers are sending out energy to accomplish what you would like to happen. Same goal, different methods.
There are several good sites to check out for basic information:
http://wicca.timerift.net/
http://www.tryskelion.com/
http://www.witchonthego.com/wicca101.html
http://www.capricornslair.com/
and many more. Just do a Google search on Wicca and you'll find many more.
Also, there are some great books on Wicca. One of my favorite authors is Scott Cunningham.
Blessed Be

In a way, they do. Magick is the act of manipulating your environment to go with your will using the occult, which includes natural forces, which have to exist. There is always something that can be influenced by strong emotions. This is how prayer and Magick works. The problem with organized religious prayer is that it is very restrictive, it can be onluused for certain things. Magick allows you more freedom when manipulating your surroundings.

They do. Before you get into spell work, though, you need to spend some time reading about Wicca and researching it to find out if it's a path you truly want to be on. Wicca is not easy. It is highly ethical and you must consider all possible outcomes and make sure your motives are absolutely pure before beginning any spell work. I'd check out some online bookstores and order some books to read before you begin any spell work.
Good luck, and bright blessings!

you can also look at other beginner books on http://llewellyn.com
it's a great site for buying books.
