The Adam myth is actually pretty insightful. It describes the achievement by humanity of self-awareness. At last no longer in the trees, people became able to consider the proposition "I am." That means they were sharing in the characteristics of their God, whose name is "I Am", a.k.a YVH or Yahweh. Human beings, becoming self-aware, were beginning to be as gods themselves.
Taking the forbidden fruit from the tree of good and evil means that human beings can at last accept moral reponsibility. No longer just submitting to the morality imposed on them by a master, like a well-trained dog, human beings eventually knew that we who are human can decide what is good and what is evil.
The traditional Bible story is taken by many to represent the "Fall" of man. But psychiatrist Thomas Szasz says it was not at all a "fall" but a "rise". At some point human beings learned to stand up on their feet and say: We humans are responsible for what we are and for what we must become.
Thus Matthew Arnold and Alexander Pope and other insightful poets can describe the human condition as neither god nor beast but poised between the two. That is a scary place to be, and we know that we can easily slip out of balance. Each of us can be either a saint or an Auschwitz kampkommandant. That is why it is quite appropriate for human beings to be scared. Humans need not be scared of their gods; they may well be scared of themselves, because we know what humanity can do.

No, no one except the Son and the Holy Spirit "know" God (the Father)'s mind. They didn't know the difference between good and evil before they fell, but they were expected to obey God 100%. It's not like it was a difficult task. They failed, and afterward knew that they had done wrong. As long as they obeyed God, they would never have to figure out right from wrong for themselves, because God is always good, and He will only give that which is good, and withhold that which is bad. This is why when they sinned, they basically told God, "We don't need you", so since then God has given them what they wanted - to figure out good/bad for ourselves, and you can see where that has brought us.

They were scared because they disobeyed God and because they knew God. Of course, they knew God before the eyes of their soul were opened but they didn't know evil or sin or disobedience.
Evil, sin and disobedience would frighten anyone.

They were scared because they were told if they ate the fruit that they would die. They didn't die by eating the fruit so they were looking to get killed. The gods were worried because they said - if they eat of the tree of immortality then they will be like us. They didn't want competition.

the first. They got scared because they disobeyed Him. He did tell them not to eat the apple anyway and they knew they had made a mistake.

It's just an allegorical story about how a little knowledge can be a dangerous thing. You'll have to ask the writers of that particular fairy tale what exactly they meant by it. The fig leaves were a nice touch (in the illustrations). I would have preferred a Maple leaf myself, but that's just me.

When you have children you show them the way and you expect them to "do good" or to obey even when they are still too young( to have the knowledge of good and evil). If they disobey any thing harmful may happen to them (sickness, dead ...). You will no say before my son lit a candle and the whole house get burned " he didn't have knowledge of good and evil, so how could I expect him to obey?" God bless you

They were not scared but ashamed. Yes it was because they had disobeyed God.

Satan had told them "Eat this fruit and you will be as gods" they did and they wern't,and they knew it and so they went oh,sh*t! we really blew it now were nude! Quik put some leaves over your genitals where the shekinah light used to sort of blur them out, maybe God won't be able to tell."
It's like the time I broke a vase and tried to glue it back together,my Mom said "Nice try knothead".

They were ashamed (not scared, sho.) because they disobeyed him, and after disobeying him and thus knowing good and evil, they knew what they did was evil.
