I was planning on making a pasta dish with Alfredo chicken and possibly broccoli but I have never had broccoli and alfredo together.

I do this all the time. Use fresh broccoli though if available. Here is my recipe for Chicken Alfredo.
1 head broccoli cut in bite size pieces
1 small container mushrooms sliced
Boneless skinless chicken breast
2 lbs of your favorite pasta i.e penni, rigati, rigatoni etc...
2 or 2 jars of alfredo sauce
2-3 cloves garlic
fresh basil rolled and sliced into slivers
olive oil
salt and pepper
1 bag kraft italian shredded cheese

Brown your chicken in a skillet with the olive oil until done. Cut up in bite size pieces. Cook pasta according to directions. Saute onions and garlic in olvice oil, add your mushrooms. Add your broccoli, cooked pasta, 1/2 shredded cheese, chicken and basil. Mix all of this together and put into casserole dish and sprinkle other half of cheese on top. Bake until cheese is bubbly and golden brown. Serve with tossed salad. Enjoy and good luck...

You can use any alfredo recipe. A number of people have listed good ones on this forum. What I often do is to use some blackend (sometimes called cajun) seasoning and coat boneless chicken breasts with a good amount and fry in a small amount of oil. When done, I cut it up and stir into the alfredo sauce and serve over pasta. Gives a spicy taste to the sauce as well as the chicken.

I do this all the time and it's absolutely delicious. I prefer my broccoli to be cut in smaller pieces though. Also, I add mushrooms and crumbled bacon! MMmmm!

Yes! It really is a delightful combination. For some added fun, you can toss a small handfull of finely chopped red peppers, too.

Yes, one of my favorites and it's delicious. =) Broccoli doesn't have a really overpowering flavor to it so it will accent your pasta well.

It's one of one favorite dishes. I also like black olives with it or artichoke hearts with the chicken. Lots of garlic too.
