I answered a question that someone had that questioned Christianity, and the Christians gave the most nasty replies. I thought your leader Jesus, was one of the most loving people to reach our planet. His message was peace and love for all people, not just the ones who agreed with him. Didn't he love even his betrayers? None of us have endured the brutality in which he was killed and if he could forgive his enemies, why can't most of the people on answers respond respectfully to a question that questions their beliefs. Not only are you not following Christ's message, but you're also not respecting the rights of others as Americans. So please answer this for me why is that most of the people who claim to be Christians give the most insulting and rude responses?

Xtians typically follow a herd mentality, and do as they are told by preacher Joe (most of them have never even read thier own book from cover) Xtianity is also a "conquoring" religion.. basically convert or die so to speak (hence the crusades). Its toned down a little over the years, and different tactics are used.. but its still the same basic subplot they just dont use guns and swords as openly as they used to.

Many Xtians feel it is thier duty to convert anyone not Xtian by what ever means necessary.. though thats not what thier book actually sez.. it sez more like provide the word, not force it down someones throat (paraphrased of course) This has always amazed me .. I cant think of any reason at all a Xtian would want someone like me in thier heaven (stuck in heaven with a bunch of em would almost certainly be HELL to me)

Xtians in gerenral dont like to have thier beliefs question in any fashion by anyone at anytime... after all (according to them) they are the only ones that have the "right story" & everyone else is wrong.. there is no wiggle room (which is odd in itself considering how many different Xtian sects/cults there are.. they cant all be right even within thier own religion now can they)

Or perhaps a simpler explanation maybe true.. and they are just CRAZY...

There are times when I may have answered in a not so friendly manner. I do my best to answer with insight and thought and try not to offend anyone. However, it doesn't always happen.
I feel that if a person will question my faith and relationship with the Lord, then there should at least be some sound basis for the argument. It does offend me when people deliberately mis-quote the Bible or only use bits and pieces of scripture as the foundation for the question.
And just for clarity, Jesus responed to certain groups in a harsh tone at times. He spoke the truth and it sometimes hurt or even offended those to whom He spoke.

Your right, some times even Christians give negative responses that they shouldn't give. They let anger give the answer for them. I am not making excuses for them, but let's just look at it a different way for a moment. If someone questioned your mom or dad's motives, ideas, or talked bad about them, then most likely you will defend first then think things over later. Most of them are probably regretting their actions, but sometimes we can't help defending our Father. We need to learn how to defend Him with love and not anger, but it takes time. Every Christian is at a different road on their path to God. Some have been Christians awhile and have learned how God wants us to act and do well in that. Some are brand new Christians and have to get over a lifetime of being a certain way . It takes time to get to know God by reading the Bible and praying. There is a lot to learn and takes some time, and in the meanwhile we slip into old habits. No one is perfect, nor expected to be. God loves us all as we are, but we do need to get better at explaining ourselves in a loving way. On behalf of those people I apologize. The only way for us to lead people to God is not by nagging at them, or yelling at them. The only way is to treat people with respect and love them no matter what they say. I hope I can at least show you that not everyone is like that. I pray that those who acted like that will see your question and think before they type next time. Have a great day.

When you say "most of the people who claim to be Christians..." have you counted them? I mean those who participate in Answers. My experience is that most Christian answers are quite friendly. A fair number can be sharp, and a very limited few can be insulting, and I'm not sure what those ones understand about Christianity.
But don't generalize.
EDIT:
I just checked out your questions, and I don't see on what basis the first respondent accused you of being a troll.

I'm a Christian, and I agree with everything you say. I'm annoyed with most of the Christians on here that bash everyone else that don't agree with their beliefs. This is America, and people have the right to have their views, just leave them alone, seriously. And then the Christians get all rowdy and all-up-in-your-face, when they're the ones who started it. Make love, not war =)

Christians are not Jesus. Just a group of people who think they know better than anyone else. Most likely most no nothing. Having a religion, does not make a person Spiritual. That comes from inside a person.

I got you... And for the record... I'm(me) a Saint, Not a Christian.
Some of these people ("Christians") arent strengthened enough in their faith to respectfully handle some questions.. They ought to see you as potential to be reproved and brought over, instead of just another enemy of the Cross. So, just like a bully with misguided frustration, they try to beat u up. And if u dissect a bullys rage, ull have a understanding at their problems. Not saying ull respect it, but ull understand the madness in their heart. So, don't do a Ghandi..(when he said) " I'd be a christian if it weren't for Christians" .. and just shake ur head at them and go where ur destiny takes u.

I agree with you about Jesus' message, but I think it's gotten adulterated over time. People start reading things into it that he never said--it's just what they've been told, and they never bothered to read for themselves. For example, look at Revelation. It was written long after any of the other books of the New Testament, by John of Patmos, not the John who wrote the Book of John. It was written to three small local churches--why would he be warning them about things to happen 2,000 years in the future? He lived during Roman times, and had to couch his language in imagery which didn't directly point to the Romans, but which other Christians would understand. As to the "666," there was a game played with the Hebrew alphabet in which different letters stood for different numbers. Know whose name came out to "666"? Nero. The man who banished John to Patmos claimed to be Nero reincarnated. And for further evidence, an early copy of Revelation has been found which refers to "626" instead of "666." There is an alternate spelling of Nero's name which comes out to, you guessed it, "626." I think he was warning other Christians to avoid becoming too "Roman" at the expense of their immortal souls. But again, people have interpreted it as they see fit, and seen Jesus' words of peace to justify everything from the Inquisition to the Crusades.

Probaly because 1. people are not Jesus and 2. you're being a troll and deserve what you get. I'm tired of hearing that "If you're a true Christian you won't give a nasty reply..." Bullsh!t. Christians are people and allowed to be angry just like everyone else. There is nothing wrong with expressing displeasure when insulted. Christians aren't exempt from this.

Some people are not secure enough in their relationship with Jesus to defend their faith properly.

Or they are just claiming to be a Christian and don't have half a clue what being a Christian is all about.
