THEY believed they were, just as many do today. A lot of the people who were burned were also Christian, but someone held a grudge and they found a lot of excuses to accuse them. A mole could convince the powers that be that a person was a witch. Even owning a cat would be a good reason (hence the black plague). There are many so called "Christians" who would like to see us executed today and they believe they are "true Christians". A lot of them seem to hang out in R & S!

The only requirement to be a Christian is the belief that Jesus was the Christ (Messiah) and therefor the Son of God. Whether or not any Christian is considered a "true" Christian will be argued as long as there are Christians.

They might have been Christians by their own description, but they were not true followers of Christ. If you are in the garage, are you a car? Jesus warned us that there are going to be a lot of bad stuff happening in the name of God. He was right. He does not have any part in it. People were nly using His Holy name wrong.
I would call them religionists. The very group that Jesus wanted to free us from. esus wantd to teach us hw to serve God and one another with love and compassion.

To a Christian, witchcraft is very evil, however so is murder. If
there were real witches, that punishment judgment should
have been done by God,not man.

They were regular people who were afraid of witches. Not christians, that happened during or sometime after the Great Depression, so realize alot of people were scared.

A true christian would never kill another person because Jesus taught to turn the other cheek, and a true christian would seek to give the witch time to have a change of heart instead of killing her while she was living in sin.I don't know what you would classify them as, they were just afraid of what they didn't understand.

I have no idea. I don't know what those people truly believed and what they truly thought. Perhaps they were just misguided or tragically mistaken? Perhaps they were vindictive, nasty people. I have no idea.

I can't say for sure what was within their heart as far as spiritual matters go. I can say for sure that they were jackasses. Have a nice day.
