Blasphemy against the Spirit
- Therefore, I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven people, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven (Matthew 12:31)
Is the sin of attributing to Satan
- But when the Pharisees heard this, they said, "This man drives out demons only by the power of Beelzebul, the prince of demons." (Matthew 12:24)
What is the work of the Spirit of God
- But if it is by the Spirit of God that I drive out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you. (Matthew 12:28)
We really do not know why Jesus said this sin is unforgivable.
With love in Christ.

The case of "blasphemy against the Spirit" in the New Testament is mentioned in Mark 3:22-30 and in Matthew 12:22-32. The term blasphemy may be generally defined as "defiant irreverence." We would apply the term to such sins as cursing God, or willfully degrading things relating to God. It is also attributing some evil to God, or denying Him some good that we should attribute to Him. This case of blasphemy, however, is a specific one, called "THE blasphemy against the Holy Spirit" in Matthew 12:31. In Matthew 12:31-32, the Pharisees, having witnessed irrefutable proof that Jesus was working miracles in the power of the Holy Spirit, claimed instead that the Lord was possessed by the demon "Beelzebub" (Matthew 12:24). Now notice that in Mark 3:30 Jesus is very specific about what exactly they did to commit "the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit."
God Bless You

From the answers I have got from Pastors and the research/studying I have done, I believe it means that if you accept Jesus as your Savior in your life and the Holy Spirit comes to you, but then deny that you believe anymore; when you die, you do not go to Heaven even though you were once saved. He doesn't forgive you even though you had the Holy Spirit in you because you decided not to believe anymore. You can not commit the sin until you are dead.
1 thing that is a fact; it is not the 7 deadly sins! That has nothing to do with blasphemy.

Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is like completely ignoring God's pleas for so long to a point at which you cannot even hear Him anymore. It would be like setting an alarm clock for a deaf person. God will keep pleading with you in the form of the Holy Spirit, but some people have so turned themselves off to God that they no longer hear his pleadings. Such a person, at that point, becomes incapable of being saved, by their own actions, not by God's. Even atheists can be and have been saved - but only those who kept an open mind to God's pleadings.

Jesus died for us all...right? The Holy Spirit of God is busy, constantly dealing with every person to lead them to salvation. He is so very important in this area. When we say "No" to this prompting by the Holy Spirit, we're in effect, saying to Him, "Get away from me, get out of my life, I don't need you". Thats blasphemy. Denying the work of the Holy Spirit. Pretty scary stuff! There is only one sin that is unforgivable...this one. Every other sin, Jesus covered with His blood. So....if you're saved, you're home free. Heaven is on the horizon.

Most people cannot commit this sin. In order to do so, one must have a sure knowledge of Jesus, not merely faith and hope. Then they must deny that knowledge and turn their hearts against the truth in an open act of defiance.

feeling that a sin you committed was so great you could not expect forgiveness for it. In other words you would be saying that your sin is greater than Gods Mercy and the evil is more important than Jesus' death. This is why Judas was condemned, not that he sinned (which was bad) but, that he killed himself rather than ask for forgiveness.
