I'm 46, and I have always had a great relationship with my mom. When I was 18, though, I resented her for a couple of years for leaving. Now I know it was for the best. She can get on my nerves at times, but she's mostly the first one I turn to when I need help or support. She's always there for me.

My dad was never the loving fatherly type. I have a relationship with him, yes, but not a really close one. He's just not the type of person you can easily get close to. He's overbearing and he puts people down all the time. I rarely did anything right, and still don't at my age when it comes to him. It took a very long time for me to gain self-confidence after being raised under his roof. Now you see why my mom left?

I do now that I don't live with them. When I lived at home, my mama and I are exactly alike, so we didn't get along at all. I loved her then but we just argued about everything. I was a daddy's girl and hung around him mostly. Now that I don't live with them, I call my mom all the time just to talk, we go out to eat together, i know she'll always be there for me. I still have a great relationship with my dad as well. I'm glad my mom and I started getting along b/c i'm 22 and just got married and I really needed her in my life through all of that and i'll definitely need her when i start having kids!

Yes. And right now I wish I didn't. I live rather far from them, my birthday is soon and I miss them very much. People who have horrible family relationships seem to be carrying around a lot of baggage while simultaneously being very free.

For the most part yes. My mom and I still get miffed at each other sometimes. Mostly though, we get along great! They were always good parents, treated me fairly and with respect...yeah, they're cool.
