Ouch! You have two choices to ease the pain. Drink something cold (but non-carbonated, preferably ice water) for a few hours, just sip it intermittantly or buy an anesthetic spray such as chloraseptic. It also comes in lozenges if you prefer. If you don't have that handy, you can put a little anbesol on your tongue. An anesthetic will numb your tongue, making it feel a little better until it heals.

put a small piece of ice on it or if you have an aloe plant, break off a piece of it, split it open and rub the slimey part over your tongue. It WILL NOT taste good but it will work.

you can buy over the counter stuff similar to what dentists use to numb the area,cannot recall name but pharmacist will know.
it wont last all that long.you can try cold water too.
good luck.onion soup can be wickedly hot,i have often done this!

Raw tomatoes have always been the best for tongue burns. you don't eat it, you keep rubbing it to your tongue

drink milk it help the burn go away promies or eat a banna any thing with dairy products help try it

plain yogurt helps for your tongue... or you cud try butter and sugar (home remedy for burns).
