My boyfriend has always been there for me,he is always saying how much he loves me,and shows it too.But he is known for having anger issues. We've been together 9 months, and for the first time he started swearing and shouting at me and my friends and accidentally opened wine all over my head. He's never done anything like this in front of me before. He's begging for forgivness but the only reason he can give me for lashing out is that he is an idiot and will change. At the same time,i've been wrestling with my feelings for him and my best friend for a while. And my best friend has been telling me how much he loves me,how if i decide to stay with my bf instead of going with him he will be happy if it makes me happy, and many other similar things,to bring a tear to my eye.I'm so confused. What should i do?What do you think of my boyfriend's sudden turn of behaviour? He keeps trying to talk to me but ive refused so far...

I would dump him in a hot second. Unless you like being yelled at. if he does it once he will do it again!

Anger issues usually don't just go away by themselves. I think you're in fantasy land and attributing character traits to your boyfriend that you'd like for him to have instead of seeing who he actually is. It's likely to only get worse as time goes by. He probably enjoys humiliating you, embarrasing you in front of others, and is trying to control you. You may also be developing 'codependency issues' of your own. Read up on domestic violence, co-dependency, and examine what your instincts are trying to clue you in on.
